The following will provide a short introduction to some of the new functionalities in Resource Central.
More information can be found in the different user guides for Resource Central and other features can be seen in the Revision History.
Delegate Manager
We are introducing a new feature, where delegates can manage requests for resources in Resource Central. Delegate is an option in Exchange where one or more users can be delegate for a resource and accept or decline booking requests on behalf of the resource.
NOTE ! The new feature requires that you are using our new Office Place Connect that is replacing Real Time Service. You can read more about Office Place Connect here
Persons
The delegate must be created as a Person in Resource Central, using the mailbox that is setup as delegate in Exchange. This is important, as other logins in Resource Central cannot act as delegates, even though they may have access to the Delegate Manager in the menu.
Overview
The Delegate Manager provides an overview of booking requests. The delegate can select one or more requests and approve or decline. A comment can be applied to the reply. The request will then disappear from the overview.
Recurring bookings
Currently, if an organizer requests a series of recurring bookings and there is a conflict in one or more occurrences, the delegate must accept or decline the entire series from the email. If the delegate accepts the series, it will result in one or more conflicting bookings. This is a known issue in Outlook.
The new Delegate Manager feature provides a solution for this.
This example shows a series of booking requests for 5 days. On one of the days there is another request.
The delegate now has the option to decline one of the conflicting requests or to move one of them to another resource, using the same functionality as in the Booking Manager.
If the conflicting one-day booking was already accepted, it would still show up in the overview when clicking on conflict in the series. The delegate can then reconsider the request that was originally accepted or make changes to one of the conflicting requests.
SysAdmin role
Previously the only user who could assign the SysAdmin role to other users was the ‘System’ user. It is now possible for all users with the SysAdmin role to assign this role to other users.
Location filter
When using the location filters in the Resource Central back-end, locations that the user did not have access to, would still be listed, but written in strike-through.
In this version we will only show locations where the user has access. The rest will be hidden.
